Logistics Operations Manager

Beacon Freight Solutions runs a 400,000 sq ft cross-dock facility on Chicago’s southwest side serving grocery and consumer-goods shippers. The Logistics Operations Manager leads the second shift (2 pm to 11 pm) with four supervisors and about 90 associates.

What you will do

• Own shift safety, throughput, on-time departures and labour cost against daily targets
• Coach supervisors and run the daily start-up and shift hand-off meetings
• Work with carrier partners and the transportation desk to keep dock doors flowing
• Drive continuous-improvement projects; we are mid-way through a 5S and standard-work rollout

Requirements

• 5+ years in warehouse or distribution operations, 2+ managing supervisors
• Experience with a WMS (Manhattan, Blue Yonder or similar) and labour-management reporting
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it
• A steady, visible leadership style on a busy floor

$90,000 to $110,000 base plus a 10% bonus, medical, dental and vision, 401(k) match and paid parental leave.
