Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is the Loxo WordPress plugin?

The Loxo WordPress plugin connects your Loxo recruitment account to your WordPress website. It automatically syncs job listings, displays them in a searchable directory, and lets candidates apply directly from your site.

Do I need a Loxo account to use this plugin?

Yes. You need an active Loxo account with an Agency Slug and API Token. These credentials connect the plugin to your Loxo job data. Contact Loxo support to obtain them.

What version of WordPress is required?

The plugin requires WordPress 5.0 or higher and PHP 7.4 or higher.

Is the plugin compatible with my theme?

The plugin works with any WordPress theme. It has built-in support for Avada theme builder and WordPress block themes. Job pages use standard WordPress template hierarchy, so they inherit your theme’s styling.

Job Synchronization

How are jobs synced from Loxo to WordPress?

Jobs can be synced in three ways: Manual sync — click “Synchronize” in the admin to run a full import. Auto sync — enable scheduled synchronization at a configurable interval (default: every 300 minutes). Webhooks — receive instant updates when jobs are created, updated, or deleted in Loxo. We recommend using webhooks with auto sync as a backup for the most reliable setup.

How often does auto sync run?

You can configure the interval in minutes under Settings → Auto Sync Settings. The default is 300 minutes (5 hours). For near-real-time updates, use webhooks instead.

What happens to jobs deleted in Loxo?

If webhooks are enabled, deleted jobs are automatically removed from your site. During a full sync, jobs that no longer exist in Loxo are set to “pending” status and hidden from visitors.

Job Display

Can I customize the job listing URL?

Yes. Go to Settings → Archive Page Settings and change the Job Archive Page Slug. The default is /jobs/. You can also set a custom archive URL to point to any page on your site.

Can I hide salary information?

Yes. Check “Hide Salary” in Settings → Template Settings. This hides salary from job listings, single job pages, and the JSON-LD schema output.

Can I use shortcodes and Gutenberg blocks together?

Yes. Shortcodes and Gutenberg blocks provide the same functionality. You can mix them freely — use blocks on some pages and shortcodes on others.

What job data is displayed on my site?

The plugin displays job title, description, location (address, city, state, country), salary, job type, location type, categories, and publication date. You can control which elements are visible through the plugin settings.

Job Applications

Where do applications go when someone applies?

Applications are sent directly to your Loxo account via the API. The applicant’s name, email, phone, and resume are submitted to Loxo and appear in your Loxo dashboard. No application data is stored in WordPress.

Can I add spam protection to the application form?

Yes. The plugin supports Google reCAPTCHA v3, which works invisibly in the background. Enable it in Settings → Job Application Settings with your Google reCAPTCHA site and secret keys.

Can I track how many applications come through my website?

Yes. The plugin tracks onsite applications (submitted through your website) and syncs the total application count from Loxo. Both are displayed in the admin job list under the Applications column in the format onsite / total.

SEO

Does the plugin support Google for Jobs?

Yes. The plugin automatically generates JSON-LD JobPosting structured data on every job page. This includes job title, description, location, salary, employment type, company info, and expiration date — everything Google needs to display your jobs in Google for Jobs search results.

Does the plugin generate a sitemap?

Yes. Enable the jobs sitemap in Settings → SEO Settings. It generates an XML sitemap at /loxo-jobs-sitemap.xml and registers it in your robots.txt. If your site already uses a sitemap plugin that covers custom post types, you may not need this.

Analytics

Can I see which jobs get the most views?

Yes. Enable Job View Tracking in Settings → SEO Settings. The plugin tracks unique page views per job using a cache-safe AJAX method. Each visitor is counted once per browser. View counts appear in the Views column on the admin job list.

Licensing & Support

What’s included in the license?

Each license includes one year of plugin updates and customer support. The Single plan covers 1 site and the Multiple plan covers up to 5 sites.

What happens when my license expires?

The plugin continues to work, but you will no longer receive updates or support. We recommend renewing to stay current with new features, bug fixes, and security patches.
